<p>Natriummalat ist ein geruchloser weißer Feststoff, der frei löslich in Wasser ist. <p>Natriummalat ist in der <a href="Europ%C3%A4ische_Union" title="Europäische Union">EU</a> als <a href="Lebensmittelzusatzstoff" title="Lebensmittelzusatzstoff">Lebensmittelzusatzstoff</a> der Nummer <i>E 350</i> ohne Höchstmengenbeschränkung (<a href="Quantum_satis" title="Quantum satis">quantum satis</a>) als <a href="S%C3%A4ureregulator" title="Säureregulator">Säureregulator</a> für alle Lebensmittel allgemein zugelassen.
